Shahid Kapoor may have fallen in love with Kareena Kapoor Khan but was destined to get married to Mira Rajput. The Bollywood actor fell in love with the Delhi-based girl, Mira, whom he met via an arranged marriage setup. They are complete opposites but they are love-struck between them during the first meeting. Shahid was 34 when he got married, and Mira was 20. Since 2015 forever, the couple has had a happily ever after. However, do you know the actor had once revealed of a cooking competition between his dad, Pankaj and wife Mira?

Shahid Kapoor reveals who is the best cook- whether it is Mira Rajput or his dad, Pankaj Kapur

When Shahid was promoting his movie, Jersey, in an interaction with Kamya Jani, he shared that there was a tough fight between Pankaj and Mira. This is because they have their own set of strengths in the kitchen. According to the actor, his dad is an excellent cook but Mira has an upper hand on it. He also shared that there are some dishes in which Pankaj surpasses Mira and takes charge. In his words:

"It’s a tough fight. My dad is a really good cook, but I think Mira kind of pips him. Although in some dishes my dad will pip Mira. But it’s a tough one, they both are very good cook.” He further added, “But she does not cook. Atleast if I tell my dad ki kuch bana do toh woh shayad bana denge, Mira ko toh 2 mahine tak peeche bhaagna padhta hai."

Shahid then shared that Mira is extremely good at cooking and makes Thai food and continental food really well. She’s very good with sandwiches, excellent with salads. Despite Pankaj and Mira having their respective culinary rivalry, Shahid also shared that both of them are very talented and bring a unique flavour to the dinner table.

When Shahid Kapoor revealed he did not have a midnight snacking habit

Shahid, apart from revealing about the cooking battle that takes place at home, revealed if he had a 3 am snacking habit. He shared that he did not have anything like a 3 am go-to-food and has been particular about his food habits, and he does not eat in the middle of the night. Shahid shared he liked to maintain a 12-hour long gap between his meals and preferred to consume his last meal by 8 pm. If work forced him to eat late, he had also confessed to crossing the 9 pm dinner time mark, which did not make his mood go well.

Shahid and Mira met through their families, who are part of a religious group called Radha Soami Satsang Beas. They had an arranged marriage, and in 2017, on the sets of Koffee With Karan, the world was introduced to Mira, who had come on national TV for the first time. "I am a very huge supporter of this arranged marriage format because I think the graph for an arranged marriage is you come with no expectations and then if you hit it off, every day gets better than the previous one…So, I think the graph for an arranged marriage is a lot better in the long term."
