Get ready for an exciting comeback! Malaysia's top mixed doubles duo is back in action, and they're aiming for gold at the Australian Open.
After a shoulder injury sidelined Chen Tang Jie, the national mixed doubles shuttler is now fully recovered and raring to go. He'll be reuniting with his partner, Toh Ee Wei, for the upcoming Australian Open, which takes place from November 18th to 23rd.
But here's where it gets controversial... The pair had to sit out several championships due to Chen's injury, as advised by the medical team. However, their head coach, Nova Widianto, believes they're ready to make a strong comeback.
"Everything is looking good for the Australian Open," Nova said. "Chen is now pain-free, and his training performance has been impressive."
And this is the part most people miss: Chen and Toh's journey to recovery wasn't easy. Last month, they admitted to not being at their best, having lost in the quarter-finals of the French Open. The world champions suffered a defeat against Hong Kong's Tang Chun Man-Tse Ying Suet in a quick 37-minute match.
Despite the setback, the duo is determined to bounce back and prove their worth on the international stage.
So, will Chen and Toh's comeback story be a success? Only time will tell. But one thing's for sure: their journey is a testament to resilience and determination.
